ICONIC WILDLIFE
The Serengeti is the stage for the renowned “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino (though rhinos are rare and closely protected). Its true iconic spectacle, however, is the Great Migration, involving millions of herbivores. Vast prides of lions, cheetahs on the open plains, spotted hyenas, giraffes, and immense herds of elephants are commonly seen. The park is also a haven for over 500 bird species, from the large ostrich and kori bustard to vibrant rollers and eagles.
